Philanthropic Information

Watermelon Fest

This philanthropic event is a national tradition for Lambda Chi Alpha. In October the women of the campus come to our front yard and play with melons. Activities include: greased watermelon wrestling, a watermelon eating contest, and a tug of war over a pit of sliced watermelon. The women of each sorority also compete in a pageant for the title of watermelon queen. Portions of the pageant include: formal wear, watermelon wear, talent, watermelon seed spitting contest, and a question and answer session. Every participant must incorporate watermelons into each portion of their event.
